My name is Seira and this is our family business.
It all started when I was born by caesarean.
You see...when you're born the other way you get some bacteria in your mouth that helps develop your stomach lining, which fights any germs that try to enter through your tummy. Because I didn’t get any, I have had eczema and been pretty sick for most of my life.
My mum went to a fermented food class and learnt about how kombucha could help me slowly get better. Most of the kombucha I tried was really vinegary and not very nice so with my brothers and sisters we came up with some yummy flavours.
We have called our business Yumbucha
- because its yum yum for the tum tum.

My sister Coco and me; we design all of the labels and new flavours and like to think about new products we can add, we are working on 2 new products at the moment and we are pretty excited about them!
My big brother does the labelling, the bottling and takes a lot of the photos, mainly of himself and he looks after some of the online stuff too like Facebook and instagram because mum said we are too young for those things at the moment.
My mum mainly does everything like brewing and driving around to different markets and cleaning. Mum said if we all work together we will go on a family holiday to Rarotonga...we can’t wait!!
The 2 youngest kids in my family don’t do much but they’re getting good at bottling using this special wand thing but mostly they drink the kombucha and run around at the markets.
We also have friends that have come onboard to sell our yummy kombucha at different markets and we are always looking for more families that would like to come on board too. At the moment we have Julie & Briar and my mum is training a few people we have met at other markets that LOVE our Yumbucha <3

We currently have four flavours and two bottle sizes, and we are working on two brand new products that we CAN'T WAIT to share with you!
